| Conservatives oppose current development plans for the Army Base Repair Organisation site |
Colchester City Council Conservative Group welcomed the unanimous decision which reaffirms Conservatives' strong and united opposition to the proposed development of the former Army Base Repair Organisation site, part of the old Garrison and located adjacent to the nationally significant Roman Circus heritage site.
The application had previously been refused by the Council. The developers have since lodged an appeal. Tonight’s decision confirms the Council’s clear and consistent planning position and the robust reasons for refusal.
The appeal will now be considered by a Government-appointed Planning Inspector in June, who will determine whether to uphold the Council’s decision.
